Faction Notes
.

White Factions

stereotype: the White (or "System") Factions are (to a degree) the de-facto rulers of the Battleverse. Their main purpose is to keep order and prevent contamination by the Black Factions. Currently we have only one faction under this category, but we plan to add more later on. When it comes to their philosophy, Whites tend to think that "freedom" exists only inside the rules, no matter how strict they are. For members of this faction, bending the rules would be an action of last resort... the VERY last resort.

Digital Vanguard:

This "megaclan" (lead by Miki) is the largest white faction. The NPCs of this faction are mainly CSR "players" that try to stem the tide of corruption done by the Syndicate and the Daemons. If "hired" by this faction, the most common mission would be to "purge" contaminated sectors. They would also have the best gear for those who want "legal" hardware for their suits.

Grey Factions

stereotype: Grey Factions encompass the Mercenaries Guild, Bounty Hunters, and Rebel Daemons. Although the white factions would largely regard greys as "anarchists", they are anything but. They do recognize the need for rules, but on the same note they feel that they shouldn’t be taken too seriously. In short, they know that adherence to rules is important, but they also know that sometimes you can "have too much of a good thing". A good example of this would be Capt Picard's instances of when he went against the Prime Directive.... Grey factions would bend (or even break) the rules if they had to, but only when its the right thing to do.. or if strict adherence is not the best course of action.

Mercenaries Guild:

This faction goes by the idea that just about everyone has their "price". They will give missions for just about ANY faction as long as the cash keeps flowing to them.

Bounty Hunters:

Aside from their common thread of being loyal only to money, members of this faction are more like glorified vigilantes rather than Mercenaries. Most often they are merc-leaning players that cant find a unit to work with, or they find that the pay from "private" contracts is better than going through the merc-guild (which would take a "tithe" from your pay)

Rebel Daemons:

These ARE Daemons, but for the most part they are lead by a number of Pandora's former "lieutenants" that somehow managed to break their programming and become independent AI entities. They don’t like what the black faction Daemons are doing, and would like to work with the grey and white factions to restore some semblance of order to the Battleverse (if they can manage to gain the trust of the white factions – easier said than done).

Black Factions

stereotype: Black Factions are the least known factions... Their origins and ultimate goals are very uncertain. From what that has been seen so far, they have a near-total disregard for any sense of order -- aside from their own idea of "order".

The Syndicate:

Where this faction comes from, no one knows. They deal mainly in black market gear, hacks, and hardware. For some unknown reason, they also seem to have some way of controlling Daemons, but how this is accomplished is uncertain (Note: unlike the Rebel Daemons, the "Daemon Masters" of the Syndicate deal in "enslaved" Daemons, where the Rebels will help willingly to those who have earned their trust)

CyberDaemonde (Cyberdemons)

Semi-sentient viruses sums up this faction to a tea. They are lead by a "self-writing" AI known only as "Pandora", which was slotted into the system by a vindictive programming student.
