okay...
we have decided that most ammo in the game should be plentiful and free (or cost next-to-nothing at the worst) -- At least, that will be the case regarding "vanilla"-grade ammo. Special ammo, however, would be another story... and since we discussed it, a 250-round drum of 20mm HEAP (High Explosive Armor Piercing) rounds might as well be a 250-use power-up - just like some power-ups we have planned to use as well (such as silencers, for example -- we got the idea from Star Wars Galaxies, such power-ups are only good for so long, and then they "break".)
We might as well have special ammo be crafted, just like the other types of power-ups... it would give the crafters something to do. (then again, it would sometimes require a given weapon to be "parkerized" to accept special ammo, or to keep explosive-tipped rounds from blowing up inside the barrel.)
